The Mooresville Police Department has announced the arrest of a fellow officer. MPD reports that Officer 45-year-old David Stephen Brashear was arrested on misdemeanor charges on Tuesday.

Authorities say Brashear is facing charges of Resist, Delay and Obstruct and Accessing Computers. MPD initiated an investigation when possible misconduct was reported. The incident allegedly involved a woman after an encounter at a local establishment.

Authorities allege that Brashear misused government-issued devices and databases.
