The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a mother for allegedly assaulting a Brockport School District employee on a school bus. Around 4:09 p.m. on January 9, 2024, deputies responded to the 3000 block of Redman Road in Clarkson for an incident on a school bus.

A 10-year-old student reportedly called her mom from the bus to say a school employee had touched her inappropriately. According to MCSO, there was no evidence of inappropriate touching after a thorough investigation. Before deputies reached the scene, the mother drove to the bus’s location, forced the doors open, and removed her daughter.

She allegedly boarded the bus and confronted the school employee before striking him in the face. MCSO said the actions of the mother caused distress among numerous children. 31-year-old Crystal L. Ames of Hamlin has been charged with Assault in the Third Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was issued an appearance ticket and released.
