The Midland County Sheriff’s Office reports that it has arrested a man for alleged child abuse of a 2-month-old.

MCSO says its deputies and CID investigators responded to Midland Memorial Hospital in reference to a report of child abuse.

Investigators say that the 2-month-old victim was transported to Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock with potential life-threatening injuries.

Investigators allege that Malachi James Kendrick was in possession of the child and caused the injuries. Kendrick was arrested for Injury to a Child Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

Kendrick was booked into the Midland County Central Detention Center.
