Miami Police arrest suspect for kidnapping and grand theft vehicle after taking car with three sleeping children

The Miami Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a kidnapping on Saturday morning. Around 3:50 a.m. on August 31, 2024, MPD officers responded to 2340 Southwest 8 Street for a reported kidnapped.

Authorities say a mother had parked her vehicle along the side of the street with her children, aged 1, 10, and 12, asleep inside just for a few minutes. When the mother returned, her vehicle had been stolen.

MPD officers issued a BOLO for the stolen vehicle which was recovered at Beacon Boulevard and Southwest 6th Street less than an hour later. A second BOLO was issued for the subject. Authorities found a subject matching the subject’s description at SW 27th Avenue and West Flagler Street.

Noel Castro was taken into custody and charged with Kidnapping, Grand Theft Vehicle, Burglary Occupied Conveyance, and Child Abuse/No Great Bodily Harm.
