Metro Nashville Police detectives shoot carjacking suspect at Cumberland Crossing Apartments

Nashville, Tennessee – The Metro Nashville Police Department says detectives shot a carjacking suspect during an officer-involved shooting.

According to an MNPD statement, an officer-involved shooting investigation is underway at the Cumberland Cross Apartments on Rio Vista Drive.

Police say an armed man emerged from a stolen sedan and was confronted by two detectives. The man was wounded with a gun in his hand, according to authorities.

MNPD says the vehicle was carjacked on Sunday night from Cheyenne Boulevard. Police say the 20-year-old suspect is being treated at Skyline Medical Center.
