Meridian Police arrest Boone Nickerson following gunfire

The Meridian Police Department has arrested a suspect following a shots fired call on Tuesday. MPD reports that officers responded to the 2000 block of East Copper Point Street near Gordon Harris Park and Mountain View High School for a call of shots fired.

Police learned that the suspect may have shot at or into a residence on the street. Police established a perimeter around a residence where the suspect was allegedly hiding. MPD says the suspect fled into the backyard of the residence and jumped a fence.

Officers quickly took the suspect into custody. 9mm shell casings were found on the road and sidewalk. A handgun was recovered in the residence. 18-year-old Boone Nickerson was booked on charges of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm at a Dwelling House, Occupied Building, Vehicle, or Mobile Home, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
