The Memphis Police Department is currently investigating an aggravated robbery at the Shell gas station at 6105 Summer Avenue. MPD reports that officers responded to the gas station on June 1, 2024.
At the scene, officers were informed that the victim was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by two individuals in a silver Chevrolet. The suspects told the victim they were out of gas and did not have money.
As the victim was trying to fill up a gas jug, he was allegedly struck several times with guns. The suspect stole the victim’s keys and fled in the victim’s black 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The victim’s brown Labrador retriever, Hershey, was still inside the vehicle.
The second suspect followed the stolen vehicle in the silver Chevrolet sedan. MPD says the incident was recorded on surveillance cameras. The suspects are later seen getting out of the Silverado and going into the Citgo at 4185 Jackson Avenue.
Anyone with information is asked to contact MPD’s Violent Crimes Unit at 901-636-1920 or Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.
