The Memphis Police Department announced on social media that it was investigating a shooting on Cable Avenue. According to a social media post from MPD, officers responded to a shooting call in the area of 2300 Cable Avenue just before 7 p.m. on December 17, 2023. Upon arrival, officers found a female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers provided medical aid until the victim could be transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Authorities have found video surveillance that shows a red Toyota Tacoma pull alongside the victim’s car before multiple gunshots are fired. The shooter hit the victim several times.

Investigators wish to speak to the person responsible for the shooting and the person or persons occupying the red Toyota Tacoma. Authorities describe the vehicle as a 2000s red Toyota Tacoma extended cab 4×4 with larger all-terrain tires or mud tires. The vehicle had a truck bed rack with an amber or yellow light bar.
