Memphis Police Department identifies suspect who allegedly fired at victim during vehicle break-in

According to a social media post from the Memphis Police Department, a suspect has been identified in an aggravated assault. The incident happened around 12 PM on November 25 in the 4600 block of Poplar Avenue. Officers were informed that a black male had broken into a Dodge Charger in the parking lot of the business. The victim alerted the suspect and started recording him using his cell phone.

According to police, the suspect allegedly turned and fired shots at the victim. Gunfire struck the business which had multiple occupants. The Memphis Police Department announced that the suspect was identified as 18-year-old Carye Humphrey.

A warrant has been issued for Humphrey’s arrest charging him with Aggravated Assault x 6, Burglary to a Motor Vehicle, and Theft of a Firearm less than $2,500.
