Memphis Police arrest Young Mob gang members for murder of Jasper Strickland

The Memphis Police Department has arrested two men for murder. MPD alleges that the men are members of the Young Mob gang. Around 6:25 p.m. on May 28, 2022, MPD officers responded to a shooting at the McDonald’s at 1683 East Shelby Drive.

At the scene, officers located Jasper Strickland suffering from multiple shots inside a vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. MPD’s Homicide Bureau and the Multi-Agency Gang Unit investigated the shooting together.

MPD alleges that Young Mob Enforcer Mohamed Samba and Quentin Moss are responsible for the fatal shooting. Indictments were returned in the case on August 29, 2024. 26-year-old Samba is charged with First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder.

32-year-old Quentin Moss is charged with First Degree Murder and Conspiracy To Commit First Degree Murder. Both men are in custody and more charges are expected.
