Maryland State Police investigating the suspicious deaths of two juveniles

The Maryland State Police are investigating following the suspicious death of two juveniles. According to a news release from MSP, the agency is carrying out an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the suspicious deaths of two juveniles found unresponsive in their home in Cecil County. A 10-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were pronounced deceased by emergency medical service personnel.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. Around 1:20 p.m. on January 16, 2024, North East Barrack troopers resounded to a home in the 600 block of Cole Street in Perryville to help the Perryville Police Department with a cardiac arrest of two juveniles.

At the scene, EMS personnel were already providing emergency medical care. According to MSP, the sister of the juveniles returned home and found the children unconscious inside the home. Investigators say the two juveniles were brother and sister who lived in the house with their mother. A search warrant was obtained for the residence.
