The Marshalltown Police Department announced it is investigating a suspicious death along with Iowa DCI. Around 5:45 a.m. on August 31, 2024, public safety personnel responded to the area of North 12th Avenue and Bromley Street for a medical emergency.

911 Communications received a call about a person found in the roadway of North 12th Avenue with serious injuries. At the scene, emergency personnel found an adult male unresponsive in the roadway.

MPD reports that the man had visible traumatic injuries. The man was transported to an area hospital and later transferred to a medical facility in Des Moines. Authorities confirm the man has since passed away.

Authorities are not releasing the man’s identity at this time.
