Marlboro County, South Carolina – The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office says a man is in custody after an infant was shot.
According to MCSO, its units responded to an emergency room regarding an individual who was shot.
Authorities say it was determined that the victim and an infant child had been shot by Calveon Barker.
According to police, the infant is Barker’s three-year-old child. The Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened after the victim and Barker got into an argument about the victim’s car being damaged or keyed.

Barker was transported to MCDC on July 4, 2025. He is currently awaiting a bond hearing. Authorities say the victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
