The Greenville Police Department has announced the arrest of a murder suspect following a double shooting on East McCorkle Circle. Authorities say that officers with the Greenville Police Department responded to the 600 block of East McCorkle Circle on December 3, 2023 in reference to a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims, an 11-year-old male and a 17-year-old female. The 11-year-old male victim was struck once in the chest. The young victim was airlifted to another medical facility for further treatment.
The 17-year-old female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Washington County Coroner’s Office. Authorities say witnesses stated that a dark-colored vehicle containing multiple males had pulled up in front of the victim’s residence and shots were fired from the vehicle.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene traveling north on McCorkle Circle. Investigators responded to the scene to follow up on leads. According to the Greenville Police Department, detectives soon identified a suspect, 17-year-old Mardarius Hall of Greenville.
Hall was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with one count of murder, four counts of attempted murder, and shooting into an occupied dwelling. Hall was taken to the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility awaiting his initial appearance.
