The Las Vegas Metro Police Department is investigating a stabbing at a business on North Rancho Drive. LVMPD reports that its Communications unit received a report of a stabbing in the 900 block of North Rancho Drive just after 5:30 p.m. on July 16, 2024.
At the scene, responding officers found an adult male suffering from stab wounds inside the business. Medical personnel transported the victim to UMC Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Communications received a call from 33-year-old Billy Bell Jr. saying he had just been shot at while at a nearby business. Officers responded to Bell’s location and noticed he matched the stabbing suspect’s description.
Bell was taken into custody. The LVMPD Homicide Section believes Bell had been loitering outside a business in the area. A victim and a friend arrived at the business before an altercation occurred between the friend and Bell.
During the altercation, the friend produced a firearm and fired a round at Bell. Bell fled the area and saw the victim and friend outside the business. Bell allegedly charged the victim and stabbed him multiple times before returning to his residence.
Bell was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon.
