Menifee, California – The Menifee Police Department has provided more details about a shooting on Mesa Edge Court this morning.

According to an MPD statement, officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 25000 block of Mesa Edge Court around 2:43 a.m. on February 1, 2025.

At the scene, responding officers found a deceased woman. MPD has identified the victim of the shooting as 38-year-old Storm Wolf.

Police say 45-year-old Jose Velasquez was identified as the primary suspect in the investigation. The Santa Ana Police Department located the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to make an arrest.

MPD says the pursuit ended in Newport Beach with an officer-involved shooting. Velasquez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
