A man has been officially charged in connection to the fatal shooting of 45-year-old David Antwan Jenkins on Saturday. The Craven County Sheriff’s Office reports that its deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Clark Road around 11:06 a.m. on August 10.

Once deputies reached 564 Clark Road, they found Jenkins suffering from gunshot wounds. Jenkins was pronounced deceased at the scene. Criminal Investigators Bureau investigators say they identified the shooter as 65-year-old Orlando Mayhew Campbell of 578 Clark Road.

Campbell has been charged with an open count of murder. He is being held at the Craven County Detention Facility at this time.
