The Lynchburg Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 36-year-old man. LPD reports that its officers and Fire Department personnel responded to multiple calls about shots fired in the 100 block of Water Gate Drive around 12:37 a.m. on October 1, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Lifesaving measures were taken but the victim succumbed to his injuries. LPD has identified the victim as 36-year-old Anthony Dwight Davis.
