Lower Swatara Township Police investigating after resident scammed out of $20,000

A resident of Lower Swatara Township was scammed out of $20,000. The Lower Swatara Township Police Department is investigating the scam. It is reported that a residence contacted the police to report they were defrauded of $20,000 around 2:50 p.m. on May 30, 2024.

The resident had received a call earlier in the day claiming a family member was facing legal troubles and needed $20,000. After the resident withdrew the money, an older white man with gray hair showed up at the victim’s address pretending to be a courier.
