Lower Chichester Police Department investigating shooting and hit-and-run

The Lower Chichester Police Department is investigating a shooting and a hit-and-run. LCPD reports that officers responded to the 1500 block of Summit Avenue following a report of shots fired.

A short time later, it was reported that a vehicle involved had been involved in an accident and possibly fled the scene. Individuals involved in the hit-and-run were treated for minor injuries at the scene and refused additional treatment.

Lower Chichester Police Department officers were assisted by Upper Chichester, Trainer, and Marcus Hook personnel to establish a perimeter. Witnesses reported that the occupants of the involved vehicle fled the scene and may have been wearing blue graduation gowns.

LCPD says witness and video accounts indicate that shots were fired at the vehicle near the Family Dollar, but it has not been confirmed that any shots were fired from the vehicle. There have been no confirmed injuries related to gunshots.

The Lower Chichester Township Police Department is asking anyone with information, video, or photos to call the Police Department at 610-485-2760.
