The Louisville Metro Police Department reports that its Homicide Unit has arrested 30-year-old Eliyahu Perkins of Louisville. Police say Perkins was arrested and charged with one count of Murder in connection to a homicide that occurred earlier this year.

LMPD reports that 4th Division officers responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of Preston Street around 4:36 p.m. on May 4, 2024. At the scene, officers found an adult male who had been shot.

Police say he received fatal injuries and passed away at the scene.
