Los Angeles PD Homicide detectives trying to identify homicide victim and suspect

The Los Angeles Police Department is trying to identify a homicide victim and suspect. South Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect responsible for fatally shooting a man. 77th Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 1500 block of West 71st Street around 11:20 PM on December 10, 2023.

Once officers reached the scene, they found an adult male victim on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Detectives and the County of Los Angeles Coroner’s Office are working together to identify the victim. Authorities are describing the victim as an African American male approximately 30 to 40 years old.
