The Longview Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting. LPD reports that its officers responded to the 700 block of Ethel Street around 2:15 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

At the scene, officers found that one man had been shot. The injured man was transported to an area hospital where he passed away. Investigators believe that the shooting was the result of a fight involving two family members.

A physical altercation occurred and led to the shooting. LPD confirms the other family member remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. At this time, the name of the deceased individual is not being released.
