A 49-year-old Lodi man has been arrested following a deadly collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian. The Lodi Police Department reports that its officers responded to the intersection of Cherokee Lane and Elm Street around 9:40 p.m. on July 11, 2024.

The initial report indicated that there was a crash involving a pedestrian. An adult male victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver remained at the scene.

LPD alleges the driver was found to be driving under the influence at the time of the crash. 49-year-old Lucas Suarez Ramos was booked on charges of DUI, Vehicular Manslaughter, and more. LPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team has assumed control of the investigation.
