The Liberty Lake Police Department is investigating an incident in which a victim was struck by a projectile described as a pellet. LLPD reports that its officers responded to an assault that occurred in the area of North Lakeside Road and East Valleyway Avenue in Liberty Lake, Washington.

At the scene, officers were told that the victim was riding in a golf cart. A vehicle passed the victim who was struck by an unknown projectile. The victim described the projectile as a pellet.

LLPD confirms that no pellets were found at the scene. However, green-colored residue was located where the victim was struck. LLPD says the residue is similar to an Orbeez bead or toy gun.

Authorities spoke to witnesses and learned that the suspect may be driving a dark colored passenger car. No other details are available at this time.
