The Lexington Police Department is investigating a shooting on Federal Street. Officers responded to the scene in the 200 block of Federal Street around 3:30 p.m. on December 21, 2023. Upon arrival, officers located a victim with a gunshot wound to the upper leg in the front yard of 224 Federal Street.

The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Anthony Kindle. Police believe the shooting is an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the public. Detectives assumed control of the investigation and are searching for a 2011 Lexus IS250 that is either black or dark gray. The vehicle had Georgia license plate CWW3774.

Anyone who sees the vehicle should call 911.
