The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has arrested an 18-year-old in connection to a shooting on Highway 378 near Lake Murray. LCSD reports that 18-year-old Logan Nathanial Carson is accused of shooting at a vehicle Tuesday night while driving an SUV on Highway 378.
He is charged with three counts of First-Degree Assault and Battery and one count of Pointing a Firearm at a Person. LCSD reports that deputies interviewed witnesses after the incident. It is believed that the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident.
Witnesses told deputies that Carson fired a handgun into the air as he drove and pointed it toward the car next to him and fired more shorts, according to Sheriff Jay Koon.
Sheriff Koon also said that beer bottles and cans were thrown from Carson’s vehicle toward the other car before the shots were fired. Carson was located at a residence near Lake Murray before being arrested and transported to the Lexington County Detention Center.
