Lewis County Deputy Brandon Grady charged with theft and money laundering in connection to youth football and cheer organization

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has announced charges against a Lewis County Patrol Deputy. According to a news release from the TBI, an investigation by special agents resulted in an indictment and arrest of a Lewis County deputy on charges of theft and money laundering. On September 13, 2023, TBI special agents began investigating a complaint of theft against Brandon Grady.

The TBI said the investigation determined that in the fall of 2020 Grady was the president of a youth football and cheer organization. Agents say Grady used money the board approved for the purchase of an equipment shed to purchase a police K9 for himself in October 2020 when he was an active deputy.

A Lewis County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Brandon Keith Grady with one count of Theft and one count of Money Laundering on December 13, 2023. Grady handed himself in to authorities on December 15 and was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
