The Lenexa Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting. Around 7 p.m. on January 13, 2024, officers responded to 13330 West 87th Street Parkway for a report of an armed disturbance. The 911 caller stated that one person had been shot at the aforementioned location. Once officers reached the scene, they located an adult male with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle.

The male victim passed away at the scene. Minutes after the initial call, LPD received another call from a person who said he was involved in the disturbance. Officers responded to an apartment in the 12700 block of West 88th Circle and took that man into custody without incident.
