Lawton Police investigating after man falls to his death from grain elevator

A man is dead after climbing a grain elevator and falling to his death in Lawton, Oklahoma. The Lawton Police Department is currently investigating the fatality. LPD reports that its officers responded to the CO-OP at 2434 Southwest F Avenue for a report of a suspicious male climbing a grain elevator around 10:05 p.m. on July 24, 2024.

Officers arrived at the scene before the man fell from the top of the grain elevator and struck the ground. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. LPD says it is not known whether the fall was accidental or an intentional suicide at this time.

The investigation into the fatality is ongoing.
