Laurel Police arrests two juveniles in connection to drive-by shooting

The Laurel Police Department announced it had arrested two juveniles in connection to a drive-by shooting in Laurel. Around 2:15 p.m. on February 22, 2024, LPD officers responded to Discount Land Road in the area of the Hollybrook Apartments after a report of shots fired.

Multiple 911 callers reported that two occupants of a silver Kia Forte had fired shots toward pedestrians in the apartment complex. Units responded and located evidence that a shooting had occurred. After collecting evidence, Laurel Police broadcast suspect information to neighboring agencies in Delaware and Maryland

A short time later, Milford Police Department officers found the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the BP Gas Station at 630 Northwest Front Street. When officers attempted a traffic stop, two male subjects fled on foot. Two females still in the vehicle were detained. Authorities say two loaded firearms were found in the area where the fleeing subjects had been sitting.

One subject was captured near the traffic stop location while the other was apprehended following a foot pursuit and area search. They are only identified as a 15-year-old male from Georgetown, Delaware and a 17-year-old male from Lincoln, Delaware. Both suspects had prior arrest records.
