The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide after a body was found near the interstate. LVMPD reports that its Communications center received a report of a body found on the side of the Southbound Interstate 15 around 7:30 a.m. on October 6.

The body was discovered near Hidden Valley Road. Officers responded to the scene where they found a deceased male near the off-ramp. Authorities say the man was suffering from apparent trauma and gunshot wounds.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time. No other details are available.
