The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has announced that two suspects have been arrested in the slaying of Marayna Rodgers. According to police, two individuals walked into an LVMPD substation around 3:32 p.m. on December 7, 2023 to report Marayna Rodgers missing.
Detectives say they learned that Rodgers had been out with friends on December 5 and had arranged to meet her 19-year-old friend Sakari Harden who would bring her boyfriend, 27-year-old Chance Comanche. Since then, authorities say Rodgers had not been seen or heard from.
Detectives suspected foul play early in the investigation and obtained evidence to arrest Harnden and her boyfriend for their role in the kidnapping and disappearance of Rodgers. Harnden was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for kidnapping on December 13, 2023.
Comanche was arrested in Sacramento, California on December 15, 2023 and is awaiting extradition for kidnapping. Detectives say they obtained information following the arrests that allowed them to recover human remains in a desert area in Henderson, Nevada. The Clark County Coroner later determined that the remains were Marayna Rodgers.
Detectives say they determined that Harnden and Comanche were responsible for the murder of Marayna Rodgers. The charges against both will be amended to open murder.
