A man has been arrested after being accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend on Monday morning. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that its officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Cal Edison Drive in Laughlin around 10:30 a.m. on June 24, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found an unresponsive female suffering from a gunshot wound inside an apartment. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. LVMPD Homicide Section investigators allege that the victim was fatally shot by her boyfriend during an argument.

43-year-old Paul Herrera was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder. No other details are available at this time.
