Larimer County, Colorado – The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office says a man was hit by a vehicle on the interstate while attempting to flee from deputies.
According to LCSO, a driver fled from a traffic stop before jumping out of his vehicle and running across a highway. The driver was hit by oncoming traffic causing I25 to be shut down for several hours.
Around 5:30 p.m. on April 14, 2025, LCSO deputies attempted to carry out a traffic stop in the area of Rocky Mountain Avenue and Highway 34 in Loveland. The driver drove away leading to a vehicle pursuit.
LCSO says the suspect continued driving recklessly southbound on I25 before stopping roughly at mile marker 245 near Mead due to a flat tire.
The man exited his vehicle with a firearm and ran across the interstate. The Sheriff’s Office says the suspect jumped over the center median and was hit by an oncoming vehicle in the northbound lanes.
Three deputies suffered minor injuries. The deputies were treated and released. The suspect was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
