In Oregon, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an attempted rape suspect. LCSO reports that deputies responded to the area of East 24th Avenue and Henderson Avenue for an attempted rape on May 30, 2024.
The victim provided deputies with a description of the suspect as well as his vehicle. Local law enforcement was notified of these descriptions and detectives initiated an investigation.
LCSO says a deputy found a vehicle matching the description in Veneta on June 1, 2024. Authorities say the identified owner was 50-year-old Bobby Allen Boyd. On June 4, 2024, Boyd was arrested and booked into the Lane County Jail.
Boyd is charged with Attempted Rape in the First Degree, Strangulation, and Assault in the Fourth Degree.
