The Lakewood Police Department announced an armed suspect has died following an agent-involved shooting. Around 7:17 a.m., Lakewood Police Department officers responded to the La Quinta Inn at 7190 West Hampden Avenue for reports of shots being fired inside the hotel on the 5th floor.

At the scene, agents found the suspect in the hallway armed with a weapon. LPD says the agents ordered the suspect to drop the weapon. Authorities allege the suspect refused orders and began coming towards agents with the weapon. Three agents fired hitting the suspect who succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

No other injuries were reported. At this time, the suspect’s name is being withheld. LPD only identifies the man as a white male in his 40s.
