The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatality crash that occurred on Saturday morning. LPCSO reports that its deputies responded to the 4400 west block of CR 800 South around 12:33 a.m. for a single vehicle crash.

The initial investigation determined that a tan 2001 Buick was traveling west. It traveled left of center across the eastbound land and left the south side of the roadway. Authorities say the vehicle traveled through the lawn of a residence before crashing into a utility police.

The impact caused the trajectory of the vehicle to change and crash into a large rock before stopping. LPCSO says 60-year-old Douglas L. Adams was pronounced deceased at the scene. The toxicology test results are pending. No other details are available.
