A man is behind bars are being caught in a restaurant parking lot trying to inject drugs. The Kittery Police Department said in a social media post that 26-year-old Gregory Witham was arrested just after 11 p.m. on April 15, 2024. KPD officers checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at the Burger King on Route 1.
Authorities say the driver was seen with a hypodermic needle and other narcotic-related items. KPD alleges the driver was attempting to inject himself with drugs. Following a brief struggle, the driver was taken into custody. A female passenger was detained but released without charges.
KPD says officers found numerous needles and other items related to illicit drug use in Witham’s vehicle. Witham was arrested and charged with possession of heroin. Authorities say he also had outstanding warrants for his arrest from Maine and New Hampshire.
