A 61-year-old Central Kitsap man is behind bars on a charge of 1st Degree Murder following a violent assault on Monday morning. The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office reports that its deputies responded to the 2400 block of Northlake Way Northwest for a report of an assault in progress involving a steel pipe around 8:40 a.m. on Monday.
At the scene, responding deputies confronted a man who was still holding the steel pipe over the victim in the driveway. Deputies apprehended the suspect before providing aid to the victim.

She is only described as a 60-year-old North Kitsap woman. The 61-year-old suspect was booked into the Kitsap County Jail for Murder. He is currently being held on a $1 million bail. The suspect’s name will not be released until he is charged in court.
