The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office has announced it is investigating a shooting in Rand. According to KCSO, deputies responded to a shooting in the 300 block of Davidson Avenue in Rand around 10:50 p.m. on March 6, 2024.

Neighborhood residents phoned 911 saying their neighbors were fighting when a gunshot was fired. At the scene, deputies learned that a male had allegedly shot a female in the face before they left the scene with two others in a gray Dodge Journey with an Ohio registration.

Deputies tracked the Journey and caught up with them in Cabell County. West Virginia State Police Troopers stopped the Dodge Journey and detained the suspect. The female inside had a gunshot wound and was taken to an area hospital.
