The Dallas Police Department has arrested a 29-year-old man following a shooting incident on Sunday night. According to DPD, officers responded to an assist call in the 700 block of Cantregral Street around 9:40 p.m. on April 21, 2024.
DPD says the preliminary investigation indicates that a private investigator was attempting to take the suspect, 29-year-old Kaland Spencer, into custody for outstanding warrants. The investigator reportedly fired his gun and shot Spencer after Spencer allegedly stole a bystander’s vehicle and was driving away from the scene.
Spencer was treated at an area hospital and arrested for his warrants, Assault on a Security Guard, and UUMV.
