A juvenile has been detained following a shooting incident at the Rooster Days festival. The Broken Arrow Police Department says the festival will remain open and officers will continue to work security for the duration.
BAPD reports that officers at Rooster Days heard gunshots around 7:07 p.m. on May 16, 2024. Officers responded and located the involved parties. Based on the early investigation, BAPD believes an altercation occurred between a group of juveniles.
At some point, one juvenile allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired multiple times in the air. One juvenile was detained and a firearm was recovered. BAPD believes this is an isolated incident and all involved parties have been identified.
