Joseph Dejoie found guilty and given three life sentences in disappearance of Jacquelyn Mitchell

A suspect has been sentenced to three life sentences in the disappearance of Jacquelyn Mitchell in Match 2023. According to a social media post from the Maryland Heights Police Department, Joseph Dejoie was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, third-degree assault, tampering with evidence, abandonment of a corpse, and possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to three life sentences.

MHPD says Dejoie was also found guilty of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree sodomy, and two counts of first-degree rape in cases with two other female victims.
