A social media post from the Manassas City Police Department announced that 47-year-old Jose Rafael Lizama of Manassas Park had been arrested for driving while intoxicated. On December 2, 2023 just after 11 PM, officers with the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 8900 block of Center Street for an Auto Accident with a pedestrian being struck.

Authorities say the pedestrian was pronounced deceased by emergency medical personnel. The driver of a white 2008 Ford E350 involved in the crash was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. The Manassas City Police Department said investigators are still receiving, collecting, and processing evidence to determine the details of the incident.
