The Jonesboro Police Department has announced the termination of one of its officers following a violent assault on a arrestee. On August 9, 2024, JPD was informed of a complaint about an incident involving officer, Joseph Harris, that happened the previous evening.

JPD says the serious nature of the complaint required prompt action. Following an interview review, JPD determined that the officer should be terminated effective immediately. JPD has released the video that resulted in the termination.
