The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has announced that two men have been arrested after assaulting a coach after a basketball game. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to Willis High School in reference to an assault in the parking lot just before 10 PM on December 5, 2023.
The victim, who is a coach for Willis ISD, told officers he was assaulted by several individuals, including a student identified as 17-year-old Jevin Allen when they returned to the school following the Willis and Conroe game. The coach told authorities that Jevin had been benched at the game due to his behavior toward a player on the opposing team.
This allegedly infuriated Jevin and his family. Once they returned to Willis High School, Jevin and his family were waiting in the parking lot. The coach went into the school before coming back to the parking lot. Jevin and his family were allegedly still there. Following a verbal confrontation, Jevin allegedly punched the victim in the face.
Jevin’s brother, 22-year-old Jarrick Allen, is also accused of assaulting the coach. Authorities say another coach witnessed the attack and attempted to break it up with help from several unidentified bystanders. Once the fight was successfully broken up, the suspects fled the scene.
Deputies reviewed video surveillance and interviewed witnesses who reportedly corroborated the victim’s statements. Deputies noted that the victim had injuries to his head, neck, face, and arms. Both suspects were found and taken into custody. They were arrested for assault on a public servant and booked at the Montgomery County Jail.
