On June 6, 2024, Bedford Chief of Police John Fisher and Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan reported that 24-year-old Jessica Cavallaro had been arraigned in Concord District Court on two counts of Murder, two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.
Cavallaro is charged in the fatal shooting of her parents, Thelma Tatten and Mark Cavallaro, this morning on Washington Street in Bedford. During the arraignment, Cavallaro was ordered held without bond.
She will appear in court again on August 20, 2024. The investigation is open and ongoing.
Around 9 a.m., BPD officers responded to a call from a Washington Street resident who reported that the defendant told him she had shot her parents in a car outside. At the scene, officers found 56-year-old Thelma Tatten deceased inside a vehicle on the lawn of an adjacent Washington Street Home.
56-year-old Mark Cavallaro was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. BPD says Jessica Cavallaro was taken into custody at the scene. No other details are available at this time.
