A 33-year-old man has been indicted in connection to the 2023 double murder of two men. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia reports that 33-year-old Jeremiah Jordan was indicted on murder and other charges in the slaying of 29-year-old Luke Whitaker and 19-year-old Zion Hollingsworth-Hayes on July 22, 2023.
Jordan has been charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder while Armed, two counts of Possession of a Firearm during a Crime of Violence or Dangerous Offense, and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Prior Conviction).
It is alleged that Jordan met with Mr. Whitaker in the 1400 block of Girard Street NW around 9:49 p.m. on July 22, 2024. They were spotted arguing with each other. A short time later, gunshots were fired.
The defendant was allegedly seen running from the scene. An arraignment has been scheduled for June 14, 2024.
