A man is in custody following the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old male. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office reports that Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a hospital in Riverside regarding a gunshot victim around 3:54 p.m. on May 19, 2024.
A 15-year-old male victim succumbed to his injuries. Deputies determined that the crime scene was in the 10100 block of Ben Nevis Boulevard in Jurupa Valley. Central Homicide Unit investigators assumed control of the investigation.
In an update, RCSO said that investigations had identified the suspect as 18-year-old Javier Carrillo. The suspect was taken into custody on May 22. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for murder.
